We want our people to thrive in an environment that values their output.RTÉ is looking for a Production Accountant to join our Finance team with responsibility for Drama & Archives.Production Accountants work within the production teams to ensure that production budgets are effectively managed and to protect value by deploying and managing effective cost management controls and risk management disciplines.As part of the Finance team, you will play a key role in discharging its financial and accounting responsibilities including month end accounts preparation, annual budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring RTÉ financial policies and procedures are implemented for in-house production expenditure for all programming.The main responsibilities of the post will include:Provision of sound financial support and advice on programme production mattersProducing financial cost reports together with written commentaries and any additional reports/information to help manage programme financesEnsuring all programme costs are correctly charged to the programme. This will involve monthly sign off on total programme costsPreparation of budgets and forecasts for individual programmesValuation of programme stock for balance sheet purposesPursuing and implementing value for money projectsThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Part-qualified or qualified accountant of a recognised professional body of accountants (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with experience in financial and or management accountingExcellent PC skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel in particular)Experience of working with accounting packages and systemsThe ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.In addition, candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible, can work as a team member and take a proactive approach to issues.
