Job description Now Hiring: Social Care Assistant / Social Care Worker Location: County Monaghan Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: €30,272 - €49,000 (Depending on Qualifications and Experience) About the Opportunity A well-established disability support service in County Monaghan is currently recruiting Social Care Assistants and Social Care Workers to join their residential and day support teams.
These full-time, permanent roles are suited to individuals committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that empowers adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Successful candidates will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on dignity, inclusion, independence, and quality of life for each service user.
Key Responsibilities Implement individualised support plans promoting independence and inclusion Provide daily living assistance including personal care, household tasks, and community activities Promote physical, emotional, and social wellbeing for service users Maintain accurate documentation including care plans, incident reports, and financial records Support access to community services and the development of self-advocacy skills Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals Adhere to HIQA regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines Essential Criteria - Social Care Assistant QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care, Healthcare, or a related field At least 1 year's experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities Understanding of person-centred and rights-based care approaches Full clean manual driving licence and willingness to drive service vehicles Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers Additional Requirements - Social Care Worker Level 7 or Level 8 Degree in Social Care or related discipline or Current CORU registration Previous experience in residential or day service settings is desirable Ability to support care planning and contribute to multidisciplinary teamwork Desirable Experience Training in low arousal positive behaviour support (, Studio 3) Familiarity with the New Directions model for day services Experience in budgeting and managing household routines Background in community or not-for-profit organisations What We Offer Competitive salary: €30,272 - €48,000 depending on qualifications and experience Permanent contract with a reputable and values-driven organisation Supportive team environment with structured induction and mentoring Access to ongoing training and continuous professional development An opportunity to build a meaningful career supporting others Important Notes Immediate start available, subject to Garda vetting and satisfactory references Applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland without the need for visa sponsorship How to Apply
