Osborne IT team is proud to be partnering with our client, an established and reputable organisation in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, to recruit an experienced IT Support engineer for their growing service desk team.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will join a dynamic internal IT team and provide second-level support to users across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Group IT Manager, this role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, managing hardware/software deployments, supporting IT infrastructure projects, and liaising with third-party vendors.
While primarily based on-site in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, the role operates during standard business hours with some flexibility required on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver second-level technical support to end users.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and networking issues.
• Participate in IT projects and assist in new system deployments.
• Liaise with third-party vendors for technical support and issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions via case ticketing system.
• Ensure IT security policies and best practices are upheld.

Technical Skills:
• Experience with virtualised infrastructure (VMware / Hyper-V).
• Solid understanding of networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, WAN, LAN, WLAN.
• Familiarity with firewall configurations and management.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10 & 11).
• Experience in Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019).
• Hands-on experience with MDM solutions (e.g., Intune).
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and support.
• Awareness and application of IT security principles and practices.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Relevant third-level IT qualification.
• 4–5 years' experience in a desktop support or helpdesk role.
• Proven ability to deliver on IT projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware certifications (or working towards them) considered an advantage.
