Staff R&D Engineer Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff R&D Engineer to lead cross-functional project teams in the design, development, verification, and validation of on-body combination products.
This role involves representing the organization as a technical contact for pharma partners on B2B product development projects, delivering advanced drug delivery solutions through all phases of the project lifecycle, and translating business requirements into robust technical designs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in selecting and designing parenteral drug delivery devices in the Biotech industry, with proven experience in executing complex system designs incorporating mechanical subsystems.
They will also possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, including customer and stakeholder interaction experience, and be able to lead multi-discipline engineering project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Leadership: Represent the organization as a technical contact for pharma partners on B2B product development projects.
* Drug Delivery Solutions: Deliver advanced drug delivery solutions through all phases of the project lifecycle.
* Technical Design: Translate business requirements into robust technical designs.
* Problem Solving: Pursue complex problems using sound engineering principles and experimental methods.
* Team Collaboration: Work with functional teams and project managers to identify and mitigate technical issues.
* Process Improvement: Apply DFSS and Lean Product Development Tools to improve product development cycles and quality.
* Mentorship: Develop and guide technical designs to achieve product goals, mentor junior engineers, and coach them through various activities.
* Communication: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills to gain client trust.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with quality policies and procedures.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor of Science Engineering or technical degree (postgraduate degree desired).
* Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in medical device development, particularly in wearable infusion pumps or similar devices.
* Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including customer and stakeholder interaction experience, proficiency with modern CAD, CAE, and design/simulation tools.
