Occupli operates nationwide from bases in Cork and Dublin.
Occupli is currently looking for a Senior Safety Consultant to join the expanding consultancy team of environmental, health and safety professionals. This role will be based in the Dublin office providing a range of health and safety related services to Occupli clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a consultancy team where the candidate will need to show a high level of autonomy, leadership and responsibility in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Role Overview
The consultant we seek will be a highly motivated and driven individual capable of working under their own initiative, representing the company in a highly professional manner and providing a proactive and committed service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety management systems.
Provide expert guidance on compliance with health and safety legislation.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, audits, and inspections across diverse work environments.
Identify hazards and recommend practical, cost-effective control measures.
Advise senior management and stakeholders on health and safety strategy and performance.
Develop and deliver training programs to promote a strong safety culture.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; produce detailed reports and corrective action plans.
Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics and KPIs.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant frameworks.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors.
Mentor junior consultants and safety officers.
Prepare policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with best practices.
Promote continuous improvement and behavioural safety initiatives within client organisations.
Contribute to business growth by preparing client proposals, tenders, and costed safety solutions.
Identify new business opportunities and support client relationship management to drive revenue growth.
The ideal candidate will
Be qualified to at least third level in a health and safety related area
Have 10-15 years’ relevant experience in health and safety management
Preferably hold Chartered Member status of IOSH or similar professional body
Have extensive competency in the areas of construction and design safety including the Project Supervisor Design Process and Project Supervisor Construction Stage roles.
Demonstrate excellent project management, planning, communication, documentation and report writing skills.
Have safety and environmental management system and site auditing experience.
Ability to mentor junior safety staff, collaborate with colleagues and lead small teams.
Possess excellent communication skills
Have strong knowledge of hazardous materials, environmental regulations, and technical standards.
This is a full-time role and the successful candidate will be based out of the Dublin office with regular travel to client sites. A full clean driving licence is required.
