About the role
We are Ireland's leading cancer charity.
We work across prevention, early detection, and care, providing research, practical and emotional supports, and driving improvements in public cancer services.
We are looking for an experienced assistant shop manager to join our team.
Our shops operate Monday to Saturday with no late evenings and are closed on Public Holidays and over Christmas.

Your responsibilities
Assist the Manager in the operation of an Irish Cancer Society shop, reflecting high street retail standards and maintaining the professionalism and profile of the Society.
Maintain operational standards that are consistent with or exceed industry norms.
Ensure customer interactions are courteous and professional.
Maintain accurate records of all sales and payments; observe agreed procedures regarding banking and cash-security at all times.
Support and proactively manage all staff including the Manager, Sales Assistants, CE participants; recruit, support and proactively manage a team of volunteers.
Maintain a safe environment for customers, volunteers and staff; report hazards to the Shop Manager/Area Manager as appropriate.
Ensure stock management procedures are observed and merchandising/window display opportunities are maximised.
Act as a contact point for service users, promote Society services and support major fundraising initiatives.
Provide cover for the Manager's holidays and, where possible, for illness-related absence.
Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and organisational skills.
Maintain patience and calm in stressful situations; be a good team player.
