We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Bookseller to join our team. The Bookseller will provide excellent customer service, support daily store operations, and help create an inviting environment for readers. This role involves recommending books, maintaining displays, processing transactions, and assisting with stock management.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and assist customers, offering personalised book recommendations
* Maintain and organise book displays and sections to ensure a welcoming store environment
* Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
* Receive, unpack, and shelve deliveries; manage stock levels and store inventory
* Handle returns, special orders, and customer enquiries
* Stay informed about new releases, trends, and literary events
* Support in-store events such as book signings, readings, and community activities
* Contribute to online and in-store merchandising and promotional activities
Skills and Qualifications
* Strong passion for books and reading across multiple genres
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Comfortable using point-of-sale and stock management systems
* Retail or customer service experience preferred (bookshop experience is a plus)
