Role Overview
At Clúid Housing our data reflects the diverse range of activities involved in supporting over 31,000 residents, maintaining over 12,000 homes and developing in the order of 1,000 properties each year. The aim of the Data Engineering and Analytics team is to support our colleagues to use this data to best serve our residents and further Clúid's mission. We are looking for a technical leader to direct the evolution of Clúid's data, analytics and AI strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
* Plan and deliver data activities with a focus on organisational alignment and incremental value delivery.
* Lead a highly technical team of data professionals by fostering a culture of growth, ownership and curiosity.
* Contribute substantially to the technical leadership of the Chief Information Office.
Reporting and Analytics
* Guide the design, development and maintenance of data models that are optimised for self-service and critical reporting.
* Coordinate a community of organisation wide analysts and reporting super users.
* Scope, plan and contribute to projects involving advanced analytics and machine learning.
Data Infrastructure and Architecture
* Design, augment and document Clúid's data architecture and infrastructure by balancing cost, complexity and performance.
* Ensure compliance with organisation security and data protection policies.
* Plan and oversee the build out and maintenance of data infrastructure.
Data Governance
* Design and coordinate systems and processes to ensure comprehensive control of data quality.
* Assist in the documentation of all data locations, data labelling and access control.
* Ensure all data processing and activities adhere to best practices as determined by the Data Governance team.
AI
* Contribute substantially to the utilization and governance of AI across the organisation.
* Leverage AI coding assistants and tools to increase internal development velocity.
* Monitor and evaluate evolving AI risks and opportunities.
Operational Excellence
* Plan, track and scope all team activities using relevant methodologies.
* Lead the development of tools to automate the deployment of code, pipelines and infrastructure.
* Ensure a culture that prioritises automated testing and code review.

* Ensure all activity is aligned to Clúid's values and contributes to the mission of supporting the development of thriving communities

* Demonstrate high standards regarding both Clúid's and your own wellbeing, health and safety requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* 5+ years leading the culture, growth and strategy of technical teams.
* 10+ years working in Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science or Software Engineering.
* 5+ years working with tools such as Python, Docker, Spark, SQL and Power BI.
* 5+ years working with data governance and GDPR.
* 5+ years working in the Azure or similar cloud platforms.
* Masters degree or PhD.
* An understanding of the Microsoft data ecosystem i.e. Power BI, ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse.
* Examples of effective organisational communication.
* Examples of building cross organisation relationships with peers and executives.
