Catering Assistant – Newcastle West
We are currently seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Catering Assistant to join our team in the Newcastle West area. This position offers daytime work and is ideal for someone with previous catering or food-service experience who is confident working independently while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with food preparation as required
2. Operate the till, process transactions accurately, and deliver efficient service
3. Serve customers in a friendly, professional manner
4. Set up and maintain food service areas to a high standard
5. Ensure all food areas, equipment, and service spaces are clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene regulations
6. Adhere to all health, safety, and HACCP procedures
7. Work independently to ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the day
Requirements:
8. Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or in a similar food-service role
9. Experience using tills and dealing directly with customers (desirable)
10. Coffee-making experience is an advantage
11. Ability to work independently and show initiative
12. Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP/Manual Handling certificates required – training can be facilitated)
13. Punctual, reliable, and well-presented
14. Availability for regular daytime shifts
