Position #003328: Assistant Professor in Religious Education (Post Primary) – Permanent Contract
Role Profile
The School is seeking to recruit an Assistant Professor in Religious Education (Post‑Primary). The successful Individual will be expected to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and modules in Religious Education through research‑led teaching, student mentoring, and supervision of research projects. Individuals will have a deep understanding of post‑primary level pedagogy, including expert knowledge of the Junior and Leaving Certificate NCCA specifications, as well as the ability to prepare teachers for the professional challenges of diverse, 21st‑century classroom environments. The successful Individual will join an established team supporting initial teacher education, professional learning and research in the fields of religious education, chaplaincy studies, guidance and pastoral work, and teacher education more broadly.
Salary Scale
Assistant Professor (Above Bar) – €64,583 – €103,501 (PhD required for the Assistant Professor Above Bar Scale)
Assistant Professor (Below Bar) – €48,940 – €66,558
Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.
