OpportunityAs aConsultant in Geriatric Medicinein the HSE you'll be a senior specialist member of the geriatricianteam at this university hospital. The consultant geriatrician plays a central role in the identification, admission, oversight, and discharge planning for patients utilising the contracted post-acute rehabilitation beds across the region.The geriatrician is responsible for confirming rehab potential, guiding referral decisions, contributing to weekly MDT reviews, and ensuring that therapy goals align with each patient’s rehabilitation progress.Once admitted, the consultant geriatrician provides ongoing clinical oversight, including participation in weekly MDT meetings and review of patients at in-person ward rounds.
