Role Overview Reporting directly to the Group Tax Lead, this position plays a key role in overseeing Irish tax compliance and supporting a range of tax-related activities across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Corporate Tax Compliance: Oversee the accurate preparation and filing of Irish corporate tax returns, collaborating with external tax advisors to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop and manage the company's tax strategy and planning. Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international tax regulations. Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and filings. Conduct tax research and provide advice on tax implications of business decisions. Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities as needed. Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering their development and performance. Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities and efficiencies. Transfer Pricing: Maintain up-to-date transfer pricing documentation for Irish entities and help enforce compliance with group TP policies, liaising with external specialists as needed. General Tax Support: Respond to ad hoc queries from Smurfit Westrock business units. Pillar 2 Compliance: Evaluate and calculate obligations associated with global minimum tax rules. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) preferred. Strong understanding of Irish tax laws and international tax principles. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
