Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mep Estimator to join our team in Dublin or Waterford offices. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for undertaking MEP estimating duties independently while reporting to our management team.
The ideal candidate will have a mix of public and private sector project experience with strong technical knowledge of MEP installations. They will also be proficient in quantity surveying and have excellent commercial and contractually focused skills.
About the Role:
* Preparation of Development Budgets: The successful candidate will prepare development budgets and feasibility appraisals for various projects.
* Implementation of Value Management: They will implement value management and value engineering techniques to optimize project outcomes.
* Estimate Preparation: The candidate will prepare estimates including system take-offs, material take-offs (MTO), and building-up rates from first principles for all MEP installations.
* Financial Reporting: They will prepare financial reports and cashflow forecasts as required.
* Carron + Walsh Systems: The candidate will operate Carron + Walsh cost management system and ensure compliance with ISO certified quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems.
Key Qualifications:
* A Level 9 postgraduate certificate in MEP quantity surveying or B.Eng. in MEP engineering.
* At least 3 years of MEP estimating experience in consultancy or contracting environment supporting commercial, industrial, or pharmaceutical construction projects.
* Proficiency in common office programs and IT, preferably with experience in digital take-off software and life cycle analysis/carbon assessment software.
* Ability to work proactively within project teams and demonstrate commercially and contractually focused skills.
* Technical knowledge of MEP installations with ability to identify, critically appraise/evaluate, measure, and describe MEP installations for cost estimating and the preparation of tender documents.
