Special Advisor - NIAC Secretariat (0.5 FTE)
This is a unique opportunity to join HIQA's Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Directorate as a Special Advisor in the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) secretariat.
The Special Advisor will support NIAC in its programme of work by co-ordinating and co-authoring the review and update of the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland, as well as assisting with advice and responding to immunisation queries from healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Co-ordinate and co-author the review and update of the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland.
* Assist with advice and respond to immunisation queries from healthcare professionals.
* Liaise with subject matter experts and work collaboratively with academic partners and with other national and international bodies involved in immunisation guideline and policy development, and immunisation programme implementation.
* Engage in the work of the HTA Directorate and of HIQA to deliver on the annual business plan in line with the strategic objectives as outlined in HIQA's Corporate Plan.
Essential Requirements
* Registration or eligibility to register as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland or equivalent as deemed relevant by the authority in a specialty relevant to the role as described (for example, infectious diseases, public health medicine, immunology [clinical and laboratory], paediatrics).
* Registration or eligibility to register as a general practice specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland or equivalent as deemed relevant by the authority and have significant prior experience or training in vaccinology, guideline development or in informing and implementing immunisation policy.
* Be recognised as a clinical expert with at least two years' practical experience in a field relevant to immunisation policy, for example, infectious diseases, public health medicine, immunology, paediatrics, and/or general practice.
