We are inviting applications for a full-time Chef de Rang position who have knowledge and experience in food service with an eye for detail and take pride in delivering 5* service to join and enhance our established team in The Falls, Sheen Bar and Sheen Lounge. You will be part of the Food and Beverage team in a fast-paced quality service outlet and will have the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of the food & beverage management team.
Responsibilities
* Provide friendly, welcoming service and ensure guests receive a high level of attention and care.
* Report for duty on time, dressed in the correct uniform to the required standard.
* Be familiar with the style of service as per Standards of Procedure.
* Be familiar with the hotel and its facilities; possess correct and sufficient menu knowledge in food and beverage.
* Explain menus/dishes to guests, serve dishes, announce them, clear plates, and provide bread and cheese service.
* Be familiar with beverages: inform, sell, order, and serve them.
* Learn about menu ingredients for each menu item.
* Prepare the restaurant for service (cleaning, laundry duties, hoovering, linen preparation, silver polishing, tabletop presentation, mise en place tasks).
* Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with fellow Chef de Rang and Commis de Rang.
* Provide Tray Service and Room Service; operate on the Pass and assist with delivering dishes to different food outlets.
* Carry out duties as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
* Attend training sessions and meetings as requested.
Responsibilities (additional)
* Ensure the complete satisfaction of each guest; be helpful and collaborate with other departments.
* Maintain the restaurant area in a clean and tidy state.
* Read, understand, and comply with responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
* Comply with all reasonable requests by Management; maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward guests, colleagues, and management.
* Learn the restaurant’s table plan; deliver trays to the appropriate station and ensure timely plating.
* On a Pass shift, ensure good communication between kitchen and service;
* Direct and lead the Commis and F&B Assistants to uphold industry standards and Sheen Falls Lodge procedures.
This is a full-time position and is on a rostered basis, which includes weekends and evening shifts.
Previous experience in a similar role is required for 2+ years, along with proven fluency in English, both spoken and written, at a minimum of B2 on the CEFR scale.
