The laundry assistant will work as part of a team to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness, health and safety when washing residents clothing.
Domestic/cleaning duties included but not limited to:
-provide a safe, clean and environmentally friendly environment for all the residents, staff and visitors
-utilise the provided implements and cleaning substances to achieve the best possible results of cleanliness and hygiene
-use the vacuum cleaner in a safe manner
-ensure the central vacuum collection centres are emptied and cleaned frequently. Enlist the help of the handyman with heavy items.
* ensure that the Wet washer vacuum cleaner is washed out and cleaned every week.
-utilize the Health and Safety "signs" at all times to prevent accidents.
-use the cleaning carts in the appropriate areas.
-have a clear understanding of the Infection Control Policies and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
-organise your work, in adherence with the company policies and procedures, Health and Safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.
-clean infected rooms last, cleaning the uninfected room first.
-use the correct equipment, adhering to colour coded mops, buckets, clothes etc.
-maintain correct labelling of equipment to prevent cross infection. RED- infection control, bathrooms, toilets, shower rooms. YELLOW – kitchen, BLUE- dining room, bedrooms, conservatory, smoking room, laundry.
-observe the colour coding system for the house.
-maintain clean and sanitary toilets, and bathrooms,
-be detailed oriented
*Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
