A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Engineering. This role reports to the OSD Commercialisation Technical Lead or Spray Dryer Commercialisation & IPT Technical Lead. Under general scientific and administrative direction, work as part of the Pharmaceutical CDS team responsible for final pharmaceutical dosage form process development activities to support the commercialization of new products, implementation into production, and process improvements in conjunction with R&D and the Roller Compaction Facility and the Spray Drying Facility. The Development Engineer provides technical assistance in resolving IPT processing issues when requested. Also, provides support for new product demonstrations and technology transfer to the Supply organization and/or external plants.
What you will do:
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership to carry out the following:
1. Provide scientific and technical support to the IPT for multiple processes and technologies, including evaluation of raw materials, process development, safety and HAZOP reviews, process monitoring, investigations, cleaning process definition, and documentation review.
2. Master scientific/technical concepts and techniques, applying and furthering those concepts to resolve issues.
3. Operate effectively as a project leader or a key team member, with planning that identifies needs, priorities, risks, responsibilities, and accountability.
4. Continuously develop skills and apply tools to measure and enhance team performance.
5. Use feedback to meet stakeholder needs, work with a long-term perspective, and develop value-added solutions.
6. Improve communication systems within and across teams and units.
7. Proactively review performance, seek feedback, and address gaps.
8. Provide clear, timely, and tactful communication and feedback.
9. Perform CDS engineering operations in compliance with cGMP, environmental, labor, health, and safety regulations.
10. Manage processes in accordance with quality standards, investigating and correcting deviations. Serve as Sub-System Owner for various QMS sub-systems.
11. Inform the CDS Pharm Tech Head about performance trends and seek support as needed.
12. Maintain up-to-date training and development.
What skills you will need:
To excel in this role, you will likely have:
* BSc or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Natural Sciences
* Knowledge of process chemistry, formulation technology, and engineering principles
* Experience with process, equipment & cleaning validation
* Understanding of cGMPs, regulatory requirements, and production operations
* Familiarity with batch sheets, deviation systems, and quality policies
* Strong communication, innovation, project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects, think strategically, and foster collaboration
