The Opportunity
Join a forward-thinking international technology business as a Tax Specialist on an 11-month engagement. You'll become an integral part of their EMEA tax function, working in an environment where agility meets precision, and where your expertise will directly influence financial accuracy and strategic tax planning across multiple European markets.
This role offers genuine autonomy and variety—you'll be trusted to drive tax initiatives from concept through to execution while collaborating with colleagues across finance, legal, operations, and policy functions. If you thrive in roles where no two days are identical and where your technical skills are matched by your ability to build relationships, this could be your next move.
Your Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
* Oversee the calculation and recording of tax positions across corporate and indirect tax categories for financial reporting purposes
* Ensure submission deadlines are met for all statutory filings throughout the region
* Verify accuracy of tax-related financial entries on a monthly and quarterly basis
* Authorize tax payments and validate amounts before processing
Tax Operations & Strategy:
* Champion efficiency initiatives by redesigning workflows and introducing better practices
* Lead specific tax projects from scoping through to delivery
* Contribute to discussions with tax authorities during examinations and negotiations at local and regional levels
* Collaborate with third-party advisors across Europe to execute tax-efficient structures
Relationship & Project Management:
* Act as the tax point of contact for various business functions requiring tax input or guidance
* Keep international tax colleagues informed of regional developments and contribute to global initiatives
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve tax objectives within required timelines
Your Profile:
Professional Background:
* Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification would be advantageous
* Professional accounting credentials such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred
* 5+ years working in international tax, ideally combining Big Four consulting experience with in-house corporate tax roles
* Proven track record in multi-jurisdictional tax environments
Technical & Soft Skills:
* Meticulous approach with excellent organisational capabilities
* Self-starter who anticipates needs rather than waiting for direction
* Confident communicator who can explain complex tax concepts to non-specialists
* Thrives under pressure and can juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
* Additional European language skills are beneficial but not essential
What Makes You Stand Out:
* You're energised by complexity and enjoy finding solutions to intricate problems
* You believe great work comes from great teamwork
* You're curious about evolving tax regulations and how they impact business models
* You're aligned with values of inclusivity and believe diverse perspectives drive better outcomes
What's In It For You?
* Exposure:
Tackle sophisticated tax challenges across one of the world's most dynamic regions
* Influence:
Your recommendations will shape how a global business approaches tax risk and opportunity
* Collaboration:
Partner with talented professionals across disciplines and geographies
* Growth:
Expand your technical knowledge while developing commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
* Culture:
Be part of a team that values everyone's contribution and supports professional development
