Job Summary
The role of a Fitter is to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment in a production environment. This involves performing tasks such as welding, repairing, and maintaining dies, as well as operating various machines and tools.
Main Responsibilities
* Identify and correct die problems independently
* Coordinate, control, and carry out die modifications
* Spotting of dies, wear plates, and inserts
* Perform all welding assignments without direction
* Operate ECC machine, hydraulic press shot blasting equipment, overhead cranes & fork lift trucks
* Operate burning & welding equipment
* Understand company drawings & drawing tolerances
* Recognise and correct problems during die assembly/disassembly
* Perform complex welding and finishing assignments
* Hand finish (blend in) machining areas keeping within expected quality standards
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Time served from a mechanical maintenance background
* Welding experience
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Customer focus
* Results focus
* Able to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
* Able to see activities through to completion
