Sales Development Specialist
The primary objective of this role is to drive sales growth through strategic territory management, effective communication with customers and stakeholders, and a deep understanding of the industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing plans to increase connection penetration levels on the existing grid.
This involves managing a defined geographic territory, engaging with Residential customers, Developers, Builders, Mechanical & Electrical Consultants, Architects, BER Assessors, Approved Housing Bodies, and Local Authorities to negotiate and secure connections to the Natural Gas Network. You will also identify and convert connection prospects across all Residential energy users.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a defined geographic territory to sell directly to Residential customers, including Mature/Existing Domestic Homes and New Housing developments.
* Negotiating and securing connections to the Natural Gas Network from customers across the Residential sector.
* Identifying and converting connection prospects across all Residential energy users.
* Developing key relationships with owners & end users, proactively uncovering new connection opportunities within your territory.
* Structured journey planning to maximise efficiency and volume of prospects in the territory.
You will work as part of a high-performing sales team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve targets and develop strategic relationships with stakeholders, contacts, and potential customers. A flair for building new relationships with people from across both the private and public sector is essential for success in this role.
To excel in this position, you will require:
* 2 years F2F sales experience with proven results.
* Demonstrable experience of stakeholder experience and relationship building.
* Strong presentation skills; both verbal and written.
* Confident business writing skills are critical.
* Technical competence (experience/competence selling technical products or services).
* Experience working with Microsoft products e.g. Word and Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint.
