About the role:
As a lead technical contributor, the engineer will define, design, and verify complex electromechanical systems integrating hardware and software. Responsibilities include:
* Deriving product requirements from user needs
* Developing system specifications
* Conducting risk assessments (like dFMEA)
* Performing verification and validation tasks
* Using methodologies such as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and employing Agile and Waterfall models, the role demands close collaboration with mechanical, software, reliability, and quality engineering teams.
* Supports transitioning designs from R&D to manufacturing and provides expertise for field troubleshooting and quality assurance.
Key duties:
* Deliver innovative technical solutions through imaginative, practical, and risk-assessed approaches.
* Develop work plans to turn concepts into design outputs.
* Own derivation and testing of product requirements and high-level system/subsystem specifications.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical guidance to engineers and developers.
* Independently address complex problems using analytical/scientific methods.
* Create detailed subsystem workflows and exception logic guiding software development.
* Collect and present data analysis to teams and leadership.
* Utilize DFSS and best practices to manage technical risk and ensure product reliability.
* Execute system verification/validation including protocol development and reporting.
* Facilitate smooth product transitions from R&D to manufacturing and support field issues.
* Act as liaison between R&D, Quality, and Reliability functions on risk analysis and validation activities.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
* Minimum 6 years' experience in systems engineering, medical device or robotic system design.
* Expertise in requirements management, system integration, failure mode effects analysis, verification & validation.
* Skilled in experimental design, data acquisition, statistical analysis, and DFSS.
* Experience in beta testing or field product launches preferred.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively internationally.
* Clear communication of concepts across teams.
* Familiarity with product development processes (Agile, Waterfall) and design control.
