Comprehensive fire, security and access solutions are being sought for a Fire & Security Engineer role. The successful candidate will complete project works, reactive response and planned maintenance services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients throughout Northern Ireland.
The primary tasks associated with this position include:
* Installation of fire alarms and security systems
* Traveling to customer locations, installing, programming and commissioning systems in compliance with current relevant standards
* Responding to reactive fault calls, troubleshooting faulty systems and achieving an accurate diagnosis to enable the repair of the system
* Performing planned maintenance services to Fire and Security systems, checking that they are still fit for purpose and anticipating what actions need to take place to achieve the aim of reduced unplanned fault callouts between service visits
The engineer will also be required to provide 24-hour call-out cover on a rota basis, carry out any other job-specific duties as deemed appropriate and bring a range of skills and experience, including essential criteria such as:
* Experience in the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintaining of fire detection, access control, CCTV systems, and intruder alarm systems to applicable British and European Standards
* Knowledge of relevant Fire Alarm and Security System Standards, including BS:5839:2017 and PD 6662:2017
This role requires good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and complete service call-out documentation, creative problem-solving skills, strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and outside bodies and attention to detail.
