Compliance Officer Role
This position involves leading the compliance function and team, ensuring adherence to regulations and governance requirements. The job requires strong leadership skills, with experience in legal, compliance, or risk management within financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the compliance function and team, including responsibilities for duties, talent management, and succession planning.
* Oversee AML policy compliance, collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
* Maintain the Compliance Framework, policies, and procedures, identifying and implementing regulatory changes.
* Develop and implement an annual Compliance Plan approved by the Board.
* Monitor adherence to compliance policies using a risk-based approach.
* Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and other functions to address compliance gaps.
* Manage compliance actions, policies, and processes to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence.
* Report quarterly to the Board's Audit & Compliance Committee.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Ensure corporate governance requirements are met.
* Chair or attend the Compliance Committee and report to the Audit & Compliance Committee.
* Support compliance programs including AML, trade, privacy, and conduct standards.
* Educate and train personnel on compliance requirements.
* Maintain and review policies regularly.
* Report compliance testing results to senior management quarterly.
Qualifications:
* Diploma in Compliance or related field.
* At least 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, or risk management within financial services.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* In-depth understanding of banking regulations and governance.
* Experience interacting with regulatory bodies and conducting compliance reviews.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
* Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
* Innovative with focus on efficiency.
* International experience is advantageous.
