The successful candidate will support the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of the Nursing Home environment, ensuring a comfortable and secure setting for residents and staff.Responsibilities and DutiesComplete weekly and monthly maintenance checklists for building equipment, call systems, lighting, and general facility upkeepConduct scheduled inspections of stores and storage areasCarry out preventative maintenance and equipment checks, including generator testing, fire exits, alarms, and emergency doorsPerform minor repairs throughout the building and on equipmentAssist with renovation and remodelling projects, including plaster and drywall repairs and touch-up paintingConduct routine mechanical maintenance on items such as door locks and windowsRepair doors, locks, tables, chairs, and closetsAssist with portering duties across both Nursing HomesSupport equipment movement and waste management tasks, including filling skipsLiaise with external service providers (water, electrical, contractors)Work collaboratively with other maintenance personnelMaintain the underfloor heating system with support from a qualified plumberAssist certified electricians with electrical repairs and control circuitsRespond promptly to emergency maintenance requestsMaintain outdoor areas, including groundskeeping, weeding, and power hosingCarry out additional duties as assigned by the Director of NursingMaintain confidentiality and uphold residents' right to privacyEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety guidelines(This list is not exhaustive.)QualificationsEssentialNo formal educational qualifications requiredDesirablePractical maintenance courses or trainingCarpentry experienceExperienceEssentialGood knowledge of health and safety regulationsDesirablePrevious experience in facilities or general maintenanceCore AptitudesActs as a positive role modelStrong communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work on own initiativeGenuine interest in working with older peopleWhat We OfferFree Garda VettingFree on-site parkingDiscounted mealsSupportive working environmentApply Today...Windmill Healthcare is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
