My Engineering client is currently hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Kilkenny. This is a permanent role with great opportunities to grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate a strong technical ability in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering Services & Design.
2. Lead, mentor, train and develop a small team of Junior & Intermediate Engineers where relevant (depending on experience).
3. Work directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop & design technical solutions.
4. Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables.
5. Produce accurate budget estimates for projects, assess contractor progress claims & variations.
6. Lead projects from an M&E Design perspective, including answering technical queries, design development, services coordination, review of technical submittals, manage & coordinate timely delivery of design changes, drawing updates etc during the project.
What You'll Need
1. Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
2. Ideally 5 years + design experience with an engineering consultancy.
3. Ability to lead & deliver project designs with minimal input from management.
4. Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role.
5. Strong communication & presenting skills.
6. Knowledge & experience of current design guides, building regulations (incl. BCAR process) EN standards.
