We are seeking a Sports Physiologist accredited with Sport Ireland (Fixed-term Contract) to join our dynamic clinical operations team. This is a full-time, fixed-term role supporting the delivery of a clinical study involving performance and physiological assessments in study participants. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in exercise physiology and be confident in conducting standardized fitness and mobility assessments.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with and support Project Manager and study team to meet all study deliverables on time and to quality standards.
* Participate in site initiation visits and internal study kick-off meetings.
* Conduct VO₂ max and VO₂ peak testing using metabolic carts and appropriate protocols.
* Administer Biodex testing for muscle strength and performance.
* Perform vertical jump tests and analyse lower-body power output.
* Conduct additional physical performance assessments, including: Chair to sit-stand test, 6 minute walk test
* Ensure participant safety, comfort, and protocol adherence during assessments.
* Collect, record, and manage data with high accuracy and in compliance with GCP and data protection guidelines.
* Calibrate and maintain equipment according to standard operating procedures.
* Collaborate with clinical and research staff to coordinate participant scheduling and workflow.
* Provide necessary training and guidance as required.
* Report findings and anomalies to Project Manager in a timely manner.
* Ability to manage schedules and work to targets.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Sports Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
* Registered with Sport Ireland (must be current and valid).
* Demonstrated experience conducting VO 2 testing and muscle performance assessments.
* Strong understanding of human physiology and exercise testing protocols.
* A flexible approach to the working week, early mornings and evening work may be required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and participant welfare.
* Previous experience working with a CRO, research, or clinical study environment.
* Experience using clinical or lab-grade testing equipment (e.g. Biodex, metabolic carts).
* Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
