Financial Accountant – Permanent

A+F Recruitment is partnering with an organisation in the energy sector to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a large, well-established finance team with a key role in group-level accounting and reporting.
The successful candidate will report to the Accounting & Reporting Manager and will take ownership of group consolidation and statutory reporting activities. The role involves a mix of hands-on finance work and strategic input.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform period close, consolidation, and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level
* Prepare annual statutory financial statements and contribute to the ESB Group's annual and interim reports
* Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and key internal stakeholders
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across corporate teams, FP&A, business units, and auditors
* Provide technical accounting support across the organisation
* Monitor IFRS, technical and commercial developments and advise on their impact
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to projects within the Accounting & Reporting function
Requirements:
* Newly qualified or 1+ year PQE with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills
* Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong IT skills; SAP/S4 Hana experience is an advantage
