**IT Engineer/ IT Support- Contract Role Cork
(Onsite 5 days a week)**
The main objective of the role is to support Compute IT Operations and Delivery.
The role supports compute infrastructure and delivery in several countries across plants and data centre locations.
This covers all aspects of compute technology including OT Compute, Digital Factory & Transformation, Application & Data Centre Rationalisation and Cloud First and migration strategies.
The Job:
Deliver compute projects in line with global engineering direction.
Coordinate technical activities between multiple vendors (HCL, CTS, Infosys, PFH, Presidio & Local vendors in regions) project teams
Manage and maintain patching/security compliance, vulnerability management and remediation to standards.
These are to be managed and reported on monthly.
The Security Health Index will measure the effective results and indicate where follow up is required.
Support controls compliance requirements and project teams through execution as they relate to Compute.
SOX & Non-SOX controls as measured through KPI.
Drive and support strategic infrastructure projects and programs for using best practice and industry standards.
Have you:
In-depth technical knowledge in Compute Infrastructure & associated operating systems
Servers, Storage & Backup systems deployment & support
Virtualisation - Azure Cloud, VMWare vSphere and ESXi clustering, VM deployments
Windows Administration skills / Basic Linux skills desirable
IT Resiliency concepts, infrastructure, and application high availability
On - Premise Active Directory Design and support experience will be a key differentiator.
Backup and Recovery - Good knowledge of principles, backup schedules and recovery techniques
Cyber Security concepts such as risk assessments, data protection, identity management
Familiar with IT Operating & Support Models
Networking - good knowledge of Networks with a familiarity of Firewalls from a compute perspective
Administration, installation, and support for BigFix, Symantec DCS and Powerbroker
Bachelor's degree in information technology or relevant college certification
Minimum 5 years' Experience in IT
Good understanding from an IT systems perspective of the interdependencies of the critical business environments and their support (examples; Production Applications & Databases, Manufacturing Applications, SAP HANA, Citrix, Powerbroker etc.)
Experience of planning, co-ordination and execution of Backup & Recovery principles, schedules, and techniques
Strong vendor technical project management capability and experience in managing third party vendors and managed services partners.
Experience of manufacturing environments and broad range of business-facing engagement and experience
Familiarity with the following a distinct advantage.

Database familiarity (SQL Server and Oracle
IT in Manufacturing environments (OT)
Service-Now as a platform
