About The Team
Our Transport Infrastructure team in Ireland is over 170 strong, spread across five offices. We deliver projects in-house and provide hands-on learning across key transport technical areas including bridges, civils, geotechnical, geometry, sustainability, traffic, road safety, and asset management. You will have the opportunity to work on important transport projects in Ireland and the UK, such as Killaloe Bypass & Shannon Bridge Crossing, Navan Rail Line upgrade, and Dublin Metrolink, learning from industry experts while achieving your career goals.

What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Project Engineer in Transport will work on the design and delivery of a wide range of transport infrastructure, such as roads, civil infrastructure, and sustainable transport projects including rail, greenways, active travel, asset management and safety, from Inception through Planning, Design and Construction.
* Take responsibility for preparation of designs and reports appropriate to her/his experience level at all stages of a project lifecycle.
* Ensure RPS quality and management procedures are complied with.
* Able to motivate herself/himself, take ownership of issues and seek team participation to achieve best solution.
* Willing to learn and develop.
* Able to work on projects in a collaborative Level 2 BIM environment.
* Ensure understanding of project management objectives.
* Engage with Clients and design teams for project delivery.
* Grow our business by strengthening relationships with existing clients and supporting expansion into new markets.
* Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
* Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Who We Are Looking For
* Extensive experience in the design of Transport projects, including roads, rail, public transport, etc.
* Experience in Active Travel and Greenway projects.
* Suitable experience across design and construction phases (including Design & Build experience).
* Detailed knowledge of the relevant Irish and/or UK standards, including NTA, TII and DMRB design standards and guidance notes.
* Experience working on projects at various phases from options, preliminary design, tender design, detailed design, and construction.
* Experience in liaising with Clients and working with them to achieve the required solutions.
* Contract Documents experience advantageous, including Bills of Quantities, Specification, Contract Drawings.
* Ability to prepare 3D models using Civil 3D or OpenRoads and be familiar with working in a collaborative Level 2 BIM environment.
* Experience of working with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage to a high level of competency. Experience in other software such as HEC-RAS, Causeway Flow, etc. is an advantage.
* Experience of highway drainage system design, culvert design, attenuation and pollution control design and natural catchment analysis.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Leadership — Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work closely with Clients to achieve high levels of satisfaction and win-win outcomes.
* Project Management – Extensive experience in all aspects of delivering projects and programmes of work, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control. Experience of leading, coaching and training project managers.
Qualifications
* A Level 8 honours degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Ideally a Level 9 master’s degree in engineering or cognate discipline.
* Other specialist qualification in a transport related discipline is an advantage.
* Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartered engineer status.
