Machining Specialist
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of high-quality tooling and daily machine maintenance. This includes operating CNC Milling machines, EDM Wiring Erosion Machines, surface grinders, lathes, and other conventional machine tools to complete machined parts to specifications defined in SolidWorks drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret and verify SolidWorks drawings, sketches or specifications to fabricate machined parts or assemblies.
* Work with customers within the automation department and production to optimize design and manufacture of parts or modifications to existing parts.
* Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
* Operate CNC Milling machines, EDM Wiring Erosion Machines, surface grinders, lathes, and other conventional machine tools.
* Prepare parts for anodizing.
* Assist the designer in the assembly of machine parts to verify fit and function.
* Perform mechanical assembly during machine build within the automation team.
* Responsible for daily machinery maintenance within the toolroom.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft & Toolmaking and at least 3-5 years' experience as a Machining Specialist. They must be competent in 3D CAM software (Auto Desk Fusion) and CNC machinery. Experience interpreting technical drawings is essential.
Additional qualifications include excellent interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral, and good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). The ability to work on own initiative and being highly motivated is also desirable.
