We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist mental health and neuropsychiatric hospital based in Dublin, seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Social Worker to join their multidisciplinary team on a permanent, full-time basis.

About the Organisation
Our client is a 131-bed inpatient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission.
For over 200 years, they have provided specialised treatment, care, and support to adults living with severe and enduring mental health needs and neuropsychiatric disorders, including:
Alzheimer's disease and early onset dementias
Huntington's disease — they are the only facility in Ireland providing a high level of specialised care for this condition

The Role
As Senior Social Worker, you will play an integral role in supporting the Specialised Mental Health Rehabilitation Programme.
Working with residents with severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs, you will help individuals to recover, rebuild confidence, and develop the skills required to live as independently as possible.
Assessing the psychosocial needs of patients within the context of their family and social environment
Providing individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions
Collaborating with residents, families, carers, and fellow MDT members in goal setting and care planningContributing to the Clinical Governance Committee and supporting the development of strategic and operational plans
Maintaining comprehensive clinical records in line with professional standards
Supervising and supporting student social workers in practice education
Contributing to research, teaching, and academic partnerships — including with Trinity College Dublin
Ensuring the highest standards of social work practice are planned, delivered, and evaluated
Person Specification
Be registered on the Social Worker Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU
Hold a degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification) and be eligible for membership with the Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW)
Have a minimum of five years post-qualification clinical experience (full-time or aggregate)
Have established clinical experience working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions, specifically in mental health rehabilitation
Have significant experience in homeless services and forensic mental health services
Demonstrate strong knowledge of clinical governance frameworks within a healthcare setting
Have experience in the teaching, supervision, and practice education of student social workers
Be an energetic and collaborative professional, able to work effectively within a diverse multidisciplinary team
