Variable up to 36.25 hours per week (including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required)

$18.05 per hour

May 5 to August 31, 2025
Job Responsibilities:
* Represent one of Kingston’s premier, internationally recognized tourism sites.
* Interpret the role of a British soldier in 1867 North America.
* In period costume, interpret the history of Fort Henry by executing military drills, guiding tours, and participating in dramatizations, events, parades, and performances.
* Participate in daily training routines including drills, firearm and artillery demonstrations, and military etiquette.
* Maintain personal uniforms, historic weapons, and accessories.
* Perform in front of visitors and attend special events.
* Provide excellent customer service to enhance visitor experience.
* Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities.
* Embody principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion during interactions.
Qualifications:
Physical Skills:
* Good physical fitness for military drills and outdoor work in hot weather.
* Ability to learn and perform precise military drills quickly.
* Teamwork skills in a fast-paced live-performance setting.
Acting & Performance Skills:
* Ability to work under pressure and meet high performance expectations.
* Quickly learn and interpret historical military and social information.
* Portray historical characters in costume and role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective program delivery and customer service.
Safety Skills:
* Learn safety protocols to ensure safety of all.
Must be at least 17 years old. A vulnerable sector check is required.
