Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join our team. As a key member of our Energy and Planning team, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services
* Providing expert ecological input for various projects
* Planning, conducting, and supervising the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork
* Preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans
* Undertaking Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements
* Writing technical reports and other deliverables
* Managing quality, including attention to detail and accuracy, delivery of contracts on time, and striving to improve the quality of work produced by the Ecology Team
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in ecology or a related subject
* A minimum of five years post-graduate experience
* Consultancy experience is desirable
* Membership of CIEEM, CIWEM, or an equivalent professional body
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Experience in preparing Appropriate Assessments and EIAs
* Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills
