About the role
We are seeking an EHS Officer to support the effective delivery of Health, Safety and Environmental programmes at our Newmarket site. This is a key role within the site's EHS function and will involve working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and site leadership to maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operation.
The successful candidate will report directly to the EHS Manager and will play an important role in supporting day-to-day EHS activities, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a permanent, full time and onsite role.
Key responsibilities
* Support the implementation of site Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and standards
* Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and Kerry Dairy Ireland EHS Standards
* Carry out risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations
* Support environmental monitoring, waste management, and site sampling programmes
* Maintain EHS documentation, records, and training systems (Intelex, Dulann, Softtrace/LIMS as required)
* Drive and collate site KPI's and reporting data for analysis.
* Design & deliver Toolbox Talks and support EHS awareness training
* Liaise with production teams to promote safe behaviours and improve safety culture
* Support preparation for internal and external audits (Global EHS, ISO 14001, ISO50001, EPA, HSA, etc.) and track follow up actions.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve safety performance and environmental compliance.
Qualifications and skills
* Srong interest in Health, Safety & Environment and manufacturing activity
* Experience in a production environment, preferably within food, pharmaceutical
* Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
* Strong IT skills
* Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent is an advantage (or willingness to complete)
* Familiarity with Waste Water Treatment Plants is a plus (training provided if needed)
* Knowledge of HSE regulations, including HSA, EPA, and local requirements, as well as risk assessment processes, is beneficial.
