A Hospital in the West of Ireland requires a C
onsultant in Liaison Psychiatry
for at leat 1 year .
It is a level 4 acute tertiary hospital, joining an established liaison psychiatry team comprising experienced mental health nurse specialists (4WTE), and registrar. The role will include provide Liaison Psychiatry input to the Emergency Department and to the inpatient medical and surgical wards across the hospital. This is a role which offers opportunity to work alongside colleagues across the specialties and disciplines, and provides a broad range of clinical work. The post holder will work alongside a (0.4WTE) perinatal consultant providing mental healthcare to the obstetric department. The on call commitment is 1 in 12 as part of the adult psychiatry consultant rota ital.
Benefits:

• Approximate net monthly salary of 9-12K net/month after tax and pension deductions for Consultant positions. Could have the possibility to earn more money through private patients attending the hospital. Typical long term Consultants in Ireland are earning in excess of ******€ net/month (approximately *******€ gross/year).

Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Should be on the Specialist registrar of the Irish Medical Council for Psychiatry. We will help all eligible candidates to get registered with the Irish Medical Council on the Specialist Registrar if he/she has completed his training in Psychiatry inside the European Union. Please take into account that the process can take up to 5 months in total.
2. Have a very good command of written and spoken English.
3. Good motivation to go to Ireland to work as a doctor ASAP if comming from abroad.
4. At least 6-7 years experience in Psychiatry with an interest in Liaison Psychiatry is required (including your training years).
5. Irish and/or UK experience is recommendable although not essential.
