NAAS-12-25-384 Clinical Nurse Specialist - IBD
Naas General Hospital, Dublin and Midlands Health Region. 1 permanent whole-time vacancy.
Purpose of the Post
The cCNS post holder will deliver care in line with the five core concepts set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Posts, 4th edition.
Caseload
The cCNS will focus initially on Inflammatory Bowel Disease patients. Concepts include:
Clinical Focus (Direct and Indirect Care)
Service user/client Advocacy
Education and Training
Audit and Research
Consultancy (including leadership in clinical practice)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following (as of application date):
Registered nurse/midwife on active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by NMBI or eligible to be registered.
Registered in the relevant division(s) of the NMBI for which application is made.
Minimum of 1 year of post‑registration full‑time experience in the division of the register; or aggregate of 1 year of full‑time experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience or aggregate of 1 year of full‑time experience in specialist area of Gastroenterology / Inflammatory Bowel Disease Care.
Successfully completed a post‑registration programme of study certified by the education provider, achieving a Level 9 or higher award (≥ 60 ECTS) in the specialist area.
Alternatively provide written evidence of equivalent Level 9 credit from a Higher Education Institute.
Demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.
Maintain live annual registration on the appropriate division of the NMBI.
Confirm registration through the annual Service User Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Full competence, health and good character required; compliance with statutory registration is mandatory.
