Senior Compiler Engineer - GPU / AI / LLVM
We are currently partnered with an industry leading semiconductor company in Ireland looking to expand their headcount at their central European R&D Centre with a Senior Compiler Engineer. This role focuses on compiler technologies that optimize ML workloads for GPU acceleration, pushing performance boundaries through advanced graph-level optimizations.
This is a permanent working opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.
Key responsibilities for this Senior Compiler Engineer position:
* Develop and optimize compiler infrastructure for machine learning graph compilers and runtimes
* Apply graph-level transformations and GPU hardware utilization techniques
* Evaluate and improve ML framework performance on GPUs
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align compiler features with GPU architecture
* Create detailed technical documentation and contribute to the design of new features
Key requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
* 2+ years of industry experience in compiler development or GPU programming
* Strong C/C++ programming skills
* Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
* Familiarity with LLVM or MLIR
* Experience with at least one GPGPU API (e.g., SYCL, CUDA, or OpenCL)
Beneficial Skills:
* Deep knowledge of GPU architecture and GPGPU code optimization
* Experience with machine learning graph compilers and runtime systems
* Familiarity with MLIR-based compiler infrastructure
