Overview
Planet Blue Energy is seeking an experienced Solar PV Operations Manager to help oversee and coordinate our residential solar installation operations across Ireland. This role focuses on managing relationships with our external installation delivery partners, ensuring seamless
project execution, and maintaining exceptional quality standards. The ideal candidate
combines technical knowledge of solar PV systems with strong coordination and
communication skills to manage multiple concurrent projects remotely. You will work closely
with our installations planning team, review technical surveys, communicate changes to
customers and partners, and ensure all installations meet regulatory compliance and quality
requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Partner & Contractor Management
 * Manage relationships with external installation delivery partners, establishing clear
performance expectations and monitoring service delivery quality.
 * Coordinate and communicate with installation partners remotely to ensure projects are
completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
 * Vet and assess potential new subcontractors, evaluating their technical capabilities,
certifications, insurance, and alignment with company quality standards.
 * Monitor partner performance against KPIs and address any issues or underperformance
through structured communication and improvement plans.
 * Grow the installation capacity in line with increasing sales volume to avoid a backlog or
bottlenecks.
 * Implement continuous improvement initiatives with installation partners to enhance
efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Technical Review & Project Coordination
 * Review technical survey information from partners to identify any installation
challenges, scope changes, or technical requirements.
 * Contact customers directly to communicate any necessary changes to installation
scope, pricing, or timelines in a clear and professional manner.
 * Coordinate approved changes with installation delivery partners, ensuring all parties
have updated information and documentation.
 * Assist the installations planning team with job pack preparation, providing technical
input and ensuring accuracy of specifications.
 * Monitor project progress and installation timelines, proactively identifying potential
delays and implementing corrective measures.
 * Maintain detailed records of all project communications, changes, and partner
interactions.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
 * Ensure all installations completed by partners comply with SEAI standards, Safe
Electric specifications, and building regulations.
• Review post-installation documentation and quality reports from partners, identifying
any deficiencies requiring remediation.
 * Coordinate the snagging process with installation partners to ensure all issues are
resolved promptly and to standard.
 * Maintain comprehensive documentation of installations, compliance records, and
quality audits for regulatory purposes.
 * Ensure partners maintain appropriate certifications, insurance, and adherence to
health and safety requirements.
Performance Management & Reporting
 * Track and report on key performance indicators including installation completion rates,
project timelines, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction scores.
 * Prepare regular operational reports for senior management, providing insights into
installation volumes, partner performance, and any emerging issues.
 * Analyse operational performance data to identify trends, improvement opportunities,
and resource allocation needs.
 * Monitor project costs and profitability, working with partners to maintain budget
adherence and cost efficiency.
Customer Communication & Support
 * Communicate proactively with customers regarding technical survey outcomes, scope
changes, and installation timelines.
 * Serve as escalation point for complex installation issues, working with partners and
internal teams to resolve matters effectively.
 * Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure seamless information flow and
coordinated responses to customer enquiries.
 * Gather customer feedback post-installation to drive continuous improvement in service
delivery and partner performance.
Process Improvement & Systems
 * Identify and implement operational improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce
costs, or improve quality across the installation process.
 * Develop and refine standard operating procedures for partner coordination, technical
reviews, and change management.
 * Utilise project management platforms (particularly ) to maintain visibility
and track progress across all installations.
 * Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in solar
PV installation.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential Requirements
 * Minimum 3-5 years' experience in operations coordination, project management, or a
similar role within the solar PV, renewable energy, construction, or electrical sectors.
 * Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, battery
storage, electrical integration, and installation requirements.
 * Knowledge of SEAI grant processes, solar PV installation standards, electrical
regulations (Safe Electric), and building compliance requirements in Ireland.
 * Proven experience managing relationships with external contractors, suppliers, or
installation partners.
 * Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical information clearly to
customers, partners, and internal teams.
 * Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and
prioritise effectively.
 * Experience reviewing technical documentation, surveys, and installation specifications.
 * Proficiency with project management software or similar platforms) and
Microsoft Office Suite.
 * Full clean driving licence (occasional travel to office or partner meetings may be
required).
Desirable Qualifications
 * Electrical qualification or SEAI accreditation in solar PV systems.
 * Experience in contractor vetting, assessment, and onboarding processes.
 * Familiarity with CRM systems and customer service best practices.
 * Previous experience in a high-growth environment within the renewable energy sector.

Reporting Structure
This role reports to senior management and works collaboratively with the Installations
Planning, Sales, Technical Support, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
