The Role: Centre Manager
As a Centre Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our childcare centre. You will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and delivering high-quality care to children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the centre, including staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management.
2. Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
3. Develop and implement programmes that meet the individual needs of children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
4. Monitor and report on child protection issues, parents' concerns, complaints, near-misses, incidents, and accidents, taking necessary remedial action promptly.
5. Ensure all issues and actions are recorded and reported as required.
6. Work closely with colleagues to develop the service to its full potential, identifying opportunities for additional funding and completing applications in a timely manner.
7. Stay up-to-date with matters related to early childhood care and education, including networking and professional development.
8. Establish and maintain professional relationships with external agencies, including TUSLA and the Early Intervention Team.
9. Review and monitor occupancy levels to ensure maximum capacity is maintained in line with service ethos and objectives.
10. Ensure the building is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
11. Act as the Designated First Aid Person, Child Protection Liaison Person, and Fire Safety Person.
12. Be available to the ACIMS inspector during inspections and provide all necessary information.
