Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Culinary Services/Executive Chef, or designate, the Server/Host key role is to provide a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for our residents, providing exemplary customer service in the dining room.
You will be responsible for greeting the residents at the front and directing them to their seats of choice; removing and storing walkers, pouring beverages and bussing, and setting tables.
The Server/Host will also take care of the organizing and delivery of room service, and help in the organizing & overall cleanliness of the dining room & serving area.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the Room Service cart is ready, and delivered in a prompt professional manner.
Greet residents at the entrance smiling and cheerfully assist them to their desired table.
Remove walkers for safety and keep track of where it is placed.
Return to the resident when they are ready to leave the dining room.
Pour beverages, and run food from the kitchen when available.
Bus and clean/sanitize tables in all sections.
Set tables meticulously and communicate to the appropriate server when residents are seated in their section.
Serve parties (guests) in the private dining room when it is booked, responsible for all their requests, beverages, food, etc.
Assist sections with cleaning & closing duties as needed, including but not limited to sweeping & mopping floors, dusting, washing tables & chairs, putting away clean dishes, cutlery and glassware.
Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork & strong communication in the dining room.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef & Sous Chef.
Education & Experience
Level 1 Food Safe is required
Serving it Right is required
Minimum 1 year serving experience
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong communication & interpersonal skills, both written and oral
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Must demonstrate a positive and team-oriented attitudeMust work well within a team environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision & have strong initiative
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to safely & efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties required for the position
