We are partnering with a Galway Medical Device client who is looking to hire a Production Supervisor for their evening shift. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support production operators, technicians, and material handlers.
* Oversee daily production to achieve targets for quality, safety, cost, and delivery.
* Troubleshoot issues promptly and make effective decisions to maintain workflow.
* Manage staffing, training, development, performance reviews, and attendance.
* Maintain a positive and motivated team culture.
* Plan and manage production schedules to meet deadlines.
* Monitor KPIs including throughput, yield, and schedule adherence.
* Report downtime, defects, and variances accurately.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
* Manage inventory levels and material availability.
* Complete administrative duties such as updating metrics and attendance records.
* Work collaboratively with logistics, engineering, and quality teams.
* Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* 3–4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Level 7 Supervisory Management qualification (desirable).
* Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills.
* Ability to motivate teams and handle conflict effectively.
* Knowledge of cost control, downtime impact, and inventory management.
* Experience working with KPIs and continuous improvement processes.
* Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
* Strong communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
* Ability to analyse production data and drive improvements in efficiency and quality.
