Librarian (Legal) – Part-Time (3 Days per Week)
We are working with one of Ireland's leading commercial law firms, advising Irish and international clients across corporate, business, financial, and government sectors.
This Librarian role sits within the firm's Learning & Development team and is based in the Dublin office.
Working closely with the Learning & Development Manager, the role delivers high-quality legal information services to the firm.
It plays a key role in supporting lawyers through effective library and knowledge management.
This is a part-time position, working three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop the firm's knowledge management practice area home pages
* Liaise with fee earners on new practice area pages and updates to existing content
* Maintain the library management system and underlying data
* Take a lead role in the development and maintenance of taxonomies
* Work with Professional Support Lawyers to advise on the classification of know-how
* Provide guidance on classification considerations for know-how database implementation
* Build strong working relationships with end-user staff across the firm
* Review library stock and remove outdated materials; maintain the core text collection
* Oversee physical library upkeep, shelving, circulation, and new starter set-up
* Manage book, serial, and online subscription acquisitions and budgets
* Catalogue hard-copy and digital resources and maintain the memberships database
* Update library training manuals and user guides; assist with legal research as required
Key Requirements
* Previous experience working in a legal information or law firm library environment
* Strong IT skills with an interest in emerging technologies and developments
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities
* Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
* A strong primary degree plus a recognised qualification in librarianship
