This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a well-established and supportive organisation.The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated kitchen team, reporting directly to the Head Chef, and will play a key role in enhancing the daily experience of our residents through the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals.Our kitchen operates seven days per week between07:00 and 18:00, and this role requires flexibility to work across a 7-day roster.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.Prepare food in accordance with agreed menus, standard recipes and portion controls.Cater for residents' special dietary, nutritional and cultural requirements in consultation with the clinical team.Ensure compliance with all HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations.Maintain accurate HACCP records and documentation at all times.Assist with receiving food deliveries, checking quality, recording batch codes and ensuring correct storage.Manage kitchen stock efficiently, minimising waste while maintaining quality and variety.Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and kitchenette areas.Prepare food for sale in the cafe, ensuring correct labelling and allergen information is available.Assist with catering for events outside of normal working hours when required.Ensure correct uniform, PPE and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.Contribute positively to a supportive, respectful and collaborative team environment.Participate in staff meetings, training and continuous professional development.Maintain confidentiality and follow all Orwell Healthcare policies, procedures and reporting systems.Candidate RequirementsMinimum 1 year's experience working as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment.HACCP trained (minimum Level 2 required).Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.Ability to work flexibly under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.Excellent organisational and time-management skills.Approachable with strong communication and teamwork skills.Good spoken and written English.Nursing home or healthcare experience is an advantage but not essential.What We OfferCompetitive rate of pay10% Sunday PremiumPaid mandatory trainingSubsidised cafeCompany pensionContinuous Professional Development opportunitiesEmployee referral schemeTax saver scheme (Bus, Rail, Bike to Work)Employee Assistance ProgrammeBike storageStaff TreatsCompany eventsSick pay (as per policy)Additional InformationAll job offers are subject to:Satisfactory referencesGarda VettingPre-employment medical assessmentOrwell Healthcare is an equal opportunities employer.
