Senior / Hardware Applications Engineer – Limerick
Work on advanced battery management system (BMS) technologies supporting electric vehicle and green energy applications. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and customer application, contributing to system-level solutions used globally.
Responsibilities
Understand complex Automotive OEM and Tier 1 ecosystems and support integration of system, hardware, and software solutions for global customers
Develop application notes, technical guides, and knowledge-sharing documentation
Validate and debug system designs to meet automotive EMC standards
Design hardware solutions with a focus on EMC compliance
Create reference schematics (Cadence, KiCad), system demo platforms, and customer-facing materials
Test and validate system performance, including defining test strategies and writing control code for instrumentation
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot system-level issues across hardware and software
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Strong problem‑solving ability with a continuous learning mindset
Interest in customer‑facing technical support and cross‑functional collaboration
Familiarity with automotive EMC standards such as ISO 10605, ISO 7637, ISO 11452, CISPR25
Understanding of communication protocols including CAN, I2C, UART, SPI, and wireless systems
Experience with system modelling and simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS/CST, or SPICE
Knowledge of RF systems, antenna analysis, and EMC testing methodologies
Experience with mixed‑signal or RF circuit design, validation, and debugging
Understanding of PCB design, layout, and component selection
Basic programming capability for embedded systems or test equipment control
Exposure to battery systems, including chemistry and state estimation algorithms (SOC, SOH), is advantageous
