Logistics Manager - Construction
DB Recruitment are hiring for Logistics / Operations Manager to join a Tier 1 construction contractor located in Galway city, the logistics manager will report to the Project manager and liaise with the projects teams.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety)

* Logistical management and upkeep/maintenance of site team offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor areas, loading areas, and site roadways/logistics.
* Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Plan, including inductions, method statements, and risk assessments.
* Manage the workforce on site to ensure safe methods of working are implemented and environmental impact is minimised, including issuing clear-up notices where required.
* Ensure all works in progress are supervised and that HSE regulations are adhered to at all times.
* Implement and maintain safe systems of work in accordance with site Health & Safety Management procedures, including regular assessment of new and emerging risks not covered by existing documentation.
* Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring Health & Safety standards are maintained at the highest level.
* Ensure all statutory Health & Safety requirements are in place, recorded, and readily available upon request.
* Deal promptly with Health & Safety issues as they arise on site.
* Complete bi-weekly safety performance inspections.
* Work closely with the Site Foreman, Project Manager, and EHS Team to ensure site offices, welfare facilities, Subcontractor areas, loading areas, and site roadways/logistics remain compliant and well maintained.

Quality

* Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
* Prepare, implement, and update Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) using BIM.
* Ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Plan.
* Implement and monitor QA/QC in accordance with standard plans and procedures.
* Implement and maintain the Project Management Plan (PMP) for the assigned scope of works, including generation of system records demonstrating compliance through auditing and surveillance.
* Implement all quality assurance requirements for assigned elements of the build, using BIM to electronically monitor and approve works as detailed in the ITPs.
* Generate daily site diaries, accurately recording labour hours and activities.
* Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assign them to the responsible parties.
* Develop, manage, and close site-specific QA documentation.
* Ensure all site-based activities are linked to space management QR codes.
* Monitor site workmanship to ensure works are completed to the highest quality standards.

Programme

* Prepare and manage short-term programmes for subcontractors.
* Provide input to weekly progress and programme reports.
* Complete daily site duties accurately, identifying and reporting programme delays and their causes.
* Manage welfare, security, and liaison with the public and adjoining property owners.
* Review, comment on, and approve risk assessments and method statements, including those from subcontractors, and obtain secondary approval from the Project Manager where required.
* Ensure all site personnel are inducted, briefed on relevant RAMS, and that CSCS cards, certificates, and adequate English proficiency are verified.
* Complete visitor inductions as required.
* Close out works on BIM.

Commercial

* Be fully conversant with drawings, specifications, subcontractor information, and scopes of work.
* Provide site records and required information to support commercial and cost control functions.
* Maintain a clear understanding of subcontractor scopes of work.
* Call off materials and maintain accurate goods received records.
* Do not sign daywork sheets without appropriate approval.
* Ensure any instructions issued to subcontractors are approved by the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.

Relationships

* Maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, associated personnel, and all stakeholders.
* Liaise with Building Control and all relevant statutory bodies and authorities.
* Interface with designers, project teams, and all site visitors.

Ancillary Duties

* Support management and staff under your control.
* Contribute to the continued development and reputation of the company brand.
* Maintain a professional approach at all times.
* Assist with reporting as requested.
