Production Supervisor – Evenings
In this key role, you will oversee the utilization of resources to deliver finished goods that meet customer demand, production specifications, and schedules. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will plan, lead, direct, and monitor all production and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the production team to achieve targets, organizing overtime with the Plant Manager when required.
* Participate in daily production meetings and address issues raised.
* Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and annual leave.
* Delegate and organize work to meet production targets such as output, waste reduction, yield, and efficiency.
* Ensure quality and production targets are met while fulfilling customer delivery requirements.
* Promote effective communication within the department and with other departments.
* Conduct employee appraisals and probationary performance reviews.
* Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in coordination with the Plant Manager and HR.
* Escalate potential problems to the Plant Manager as necessary.
* Review production and management data (e.g., downtime, waste, process sheets, non-conformances, on-hold logs) to ensure compliance.
* Ensure first-off and final checks are completed online.
* Monitor control of all items such as production tools, probes, and machine parts in line with procedures.
* Manage energy and waste conservation efforts.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment.
* Ensure all equipment is operated according to training, and staff are trained and signed off appropriately.
* Adhere to hygiene, safety, and quality procedures consistently.
* Propose suggestions and initiatives for process improvements and SOP development.
* Keep all SOPs up to date and review annually or upon process changes.
* Train staff on the latest SOPs, ensuring best practices in operation, quality, and safety.
* Ensure products are produced and packed according to company and customer specifications, adhering to the 'get it right first time' motto.
* Handle ingredients and finished products with a focus on zero wastage and minimizing write-offs.
* Liaise with maintenance and the Plant Manager regarding issues.
* Communicate with staff and supervisors to ensure a continuous supply of materials, avoiding process stoppages.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
* Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word.
* Familiarity with best practice processes, procedures, and quality systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Good problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Proven leadership and people management skills.
* Track record of delivering results.
* Excellent written and verbal English skills.
* Decisive, motivated self-starter.
* Strong team player who can also work independently.

* Ideally able to drive a car due to the hours; must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
