Grants And Cost Optimisation Accountant - Aviation
I’m delighted to be partnering with a leading global organisation in the aviation sector that continues to innovate and expand its operations in the Midwest region. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in supporting the company’s growth, innovation, and cost efficiency strategies.
You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and senior leadership team across multiple functions — finance, engineering, and operations — to drive grants optimisation, cost efficiency, and R&D initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify all relevant financial supports (R&D, Capital, Training, Green, etc.) available from national agencies, EU programmes, public bodies, and other funding sources aligned with the company’s strategy and innovation roadmap.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies and agencies to ensure full awareness and utilisation of available supports.
* Coordinate the development, submission, and tracking of grant proposals and funding applications.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to identify eligible R&D projects for Revenue tax credits.
* Prepare, file, and track all relevant submissions and credits with Revenue.
* Support the Financial Controller with the preparation of month-end product and customer profitability reports.
* Identify cost overruns and partner with production and engineering teams to improve efficiency and reduce cost per part.
Person Specification:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
* 5+ years’ PQE.
* Strong experience in grant preparation, submission, and management.
* Experience with R&D tax claims is desirable.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Experience with accounting systems and ERP software.
