Role Overview
We are seeking a Site-Based Engineer to join our residential construction team on active projects in Swords. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and supporting site management to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
This role offers long-term, local work on residential developments with strong progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out for foundations, substructure, superstructure, and external works
* Checking drawings, levels, and dimensions to ensure accuracy of construction
* Coordinating engineering activities with site management and subcontractors
* Ensuring works are carried out in compliance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations
* Assisting with inspections, quality checks, snagging, and handover processes
* Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information, and quality documentation
* Raising RFIs and liaising with design teams where required
* Supporting health & safety compliance on site
* Monitoring progress and reporting any issues affecting programme or quality
Requirements
* Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline
* 1–4+ years' experience in a Site Engineer role (residential experience advantageous)
* Strong setting-out skills using Total Station and GPS
* Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and construction standards
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Full, clean driving licence
Desirable
* Experience working on housing or apartment schemes
* Familiarity with BCAR processes and certification
* Experience working with main contractors or residential developers
