Senior Learning Experience Designer
Full-time | Dublin (Remote; Occasional EU travel) | Ireland work rights required
About Us
At
Player 1 Labs
, we design
gamified, hands-on learning experiences
that transform how companies onboard, train, collaborate, and grow. We're not in the business of building slide decks or generic e-learning. We craft
immersive
,
experiential
journeys for our clients and their teams.
Every project is different. Every client has a new challenge. And every learning experience we design is made from scratch — playful, strategic, and grounded in real behaviour change.
About the role
This is a
strategic
,
creative
, and
hands-on role
for someone who can take a messy brief and deliver a polished, playable solution. We're looking for a
sharp
,
curious
, and
design-minded teammate
to help us build high-impact learning experiences and games for our clients.
You'll own projects end-to-end, collaborate with a nimble team to solve unique client problems, and bring ideas to life through clever mechanics, sharp visuals, and practical execution.
Our workflows, prototyping, and asset creation are
AI-optimised
, and this role will
co-lead how we use AI
day-to-day. You'll be hands-on with AI tools and models, curious about what's next, and turn that curiosity into repeatable and efficient ways of working.
What you'll do
* Clarify & diagnose
client needs (even when the brief is vague) and frame success.
* Pitch solutions
that clients can instantly understand and get excited about.
* Join internal problem-cracking sessions and develop
learning solutions and formats.
* Design
practical & playable experiences
(e.g., interactive workshops, onboarding experiences, team challenges).
* Distil complex content into
engaging, practical formats
(digital and physical).
* Use Google Workspace, Figma/Canva, Miro, Landbot, SpatialChat, GenAI-powered tools (e.g., HeyGen and ElevenLabs) to
design, prototype, and deliver.
* Own projects end-to-end
— from first meeting to final delivery — with high attention to detail.
* Manage pace & priorities across
multiple projects,
while working independently.
* Co-lead our AI ecosystem & strategy
— scout, evaluate, and productionise new AI tools, design prompts and workflows, build AI-workflows for content development, and coach the team so everyone ships faster and smarter.
You'll thrive here if you…
* Are a
creative problem-solver
who can turn an ambiguous client brief into a clear and practical solution.
* Think in
systems
,
principles
, and
mechanics
, instead of looking for blueprints.
* Have
strong visual design instincts
and are comfortable in Figma/Canva.
* See
AI as a creative partner and systems lever
— you can build with it and help decide how the team should use it.
* Ask
smart questions
,
move fast
, and
get to the heart of ideas
quickly.
* Are excited to wear
multiple hats
— from game design to copywriting to facilitation support.
*Language:
Business-fluent English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
This role is
not
for you if…
* You need a detailed playbook or a project manager to keep you on track.
* You struggle with ambiguity or shifting priorities.
* You prefer to stick to a single skill (e.g., "just" learning design or "just" visual design).
Must-haves
* Right to work in Ireland
at time of application (e.g., Stamp 4 or equivalent that allows immediate employment). We're not able to sponsor visas or employment permits for this role.
* Corporate experience:
you've built or deployed solutions for enterprise stakeholders previously.
* AI fluency
and passion to build AI-optimised workflows.
Skills you likely bring
You don't need to tick every box. We care more about how you think, work, and grow.
* Background in learning design, experience design, game design, or consulting.
* Experience crafting learning solutions from scratch (e.g., workshops, onboarding journeys).
* Ability to distill raw content into crisp visual narratives and modular learning elements.
* Understanding of gamification, mechanics, and how people learn through play.
* Excellent communication, project ownership, and time management.
Working at Player 1 Labs
* We're a small, tight-knit team spread across Europe.
* We work with leaders like Nike, Disney, Coca-Cola, and P&G across industries.
* Every week is different — live facilitation, creative sprints, and internal design jams.
* We move fast, prototype early, and treat every project like a custom puzzle to solve.
* You'll work closely with our founder, contributing meaningfully from day one.
THE KIND OF WORK YOU'LL HELP CREATE…
You'll work with top industry leaders and build custom solutions end-to-end.
* Change Management at Disney:
* Custom Coaching Board Game for Nike:
* Experiential Training at Enterprise Ireland:
* Explore more projects at
.
BENEFITS:
* Remote-first, with occasional in-person events
* 24 days PTO
* Flexible work environment
* Opportunity to travel occasionally across the EU
* Salary shared at the first interview, aligned with seniority and experience.
How to apply
Send us:
* Your CV or LinkedIn on
* Your portfolio or 1-2 examples of something you've designed (We care more about how you think than polish)
* A brief note on why you think you'd be a good fit.
Looking forward to chat.
