Orange Recruitment are sourcing a Project Planner who will be the heart of manufacturing operations of our new client based in Cork.
The successfull Project Planner will be responsible for turning customer demand into achievable production and logistics plans.
The Production Planner & Logistics Coordinator ensures that materials, capacity, and schedules are aligned to deliver customer orders efficiently, safely, and on time.
The Production Planner will be working closely with production, procurement, logistics partners, and commercial teams, the role balances short-term execution with longer-term planning, maintaining visibility across the full supply and production chain.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned to customer orders, sales forecasts, and available manufacturing capacity Analyse demand, production requirements, and resource availability to create realistic, achievable production plans Assess material availability, labour requirements, and capacity constraints, adjusting schedules as needed to maintain delivery commitments Break production plans into clear, sequenced activities, allocating work to appropriate workstations or teams Coordinate material flow through the production process to ensure continuity, efficiency, and minimal disruption Use ERP systems to manage production planning, labour hours, inventory levels, and logistics data, maintaining accuracy and real-time visibility Coordinate inbound logistics for raw materials and components, working closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery Track inbound shipments, resolve delivery issues, and ensure accurate documentation is in place Plan and manage outbound logistics for finished goods, including packaging, warehousing, and transport arrangements Select appropriate transport methods to meet customer delivery requirements while controlling cost Work with warehouse and transport providers to optimise storage, handling, and distribution processes Monitor inventory levels and warehouse utilisation to support production flow and reduce excess stock Ensure compliance with all relevant transport, customs, and shipping regulations for both inbound and outbound movements Experience: Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of logistics principles, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control Experience using ERP systems for production and logistics planning Proven ability to track, analyse, and report on operational KPIs High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Knowledge of industrial or commercial HVAC systems, components, and refrigeration principles (air-cooled and water-cooled systems) is highly advantageous Skills: Data-driven Project Planner Highly analytical Project Planner Detail-oriented Project Planner Methodical Project Planner Technically proficient Project Planner Systems-focused Project Planner Forecasting-led Project Planner
